i want it to look like the above image, just the camera will be a bit closer to him

Mise En Scene - Camera Angles.
For my cover shot. i will use a low angle, medium close up of Jordan. this is because i want jordan to seem like a big star, so if i use a low angle shot, it will show power, or being superior.
Mise En Scene - Props
For my props, i have decided to use the following.
Microphone
Mic Stand
Guitar.
I'm using these props because i want it to seem like he is singing to an audience, into the microphone. He will also have the guitar, with a strap around his shoulder to support the instrument. i want the guitar to be an acoustic guitar as most solo artists these days use an acoustic guitar.

Mise En Scene - Location
For my location, i'm going to be using the Oldershaw Academy main hall. this is because there will be plenty of props backstage that i can use and i will be editing the back ground out for my magazine as i only want Jordan on the cover.

Mise En Scene - Costume
For my Actors costume, i will be taking inspiration from Sam Smith as he is a singer who sings pop songs. he has many fans and is a global star winning four Grammys for his hit songs.
Jordan will wear this plain white t-shirt with a black frock over it. He will wear white, black and blue high tops and black skinny jeans. all this is to look trendy and have nice new clothes, which will appeal to my target audience.

Mise En Scene - Actors
As i am making a pop genre magazine that is aimed at younger audiences i want a solo artist on the front, who is young. The actor i will use Jordan, as he is young and likes pop music, therefore he has an understanding of the genre.

My Magazine
In my previous posts, i've been researching magazine types and genres and have decided to go for a pop genre magazine as my own. i want the age group to be for 14 - 17, this is because i'm going for bright, vibrant colours which may seem childlike. it will be unisex as most artists in the charts are both male and female. the genre will be pop as i feel like there is a big gap in the pop magazine genre. so i know my magazine will sell. most people listen to pop, but my magazine will be more for the middle to lower class, meaning i'm going to set my price quite low, such as £2.50. i'm also setting it this low because i know it will sell. my magazine will feature stars like Sam Smith, Adele, Justin Bieber and One Direction.
Companies of magazines.
Q Magazine
Q Magazine is still available today in the UK. this magazine gets printed monthly and is aimed at all ages. this was create by Bauer Media Group, a large company.
Top Of The Pops
This is published by Immediate Media Company and is available every week. it is mainly aimed for girls. this could show there is a gap in the market for a boys pop magazine.
Rolling Stone
Rolling Stone magazine has been published by Wenner Media LLC. it is a biweekly magazine and is popular among most people for its up and coming stars.

Top of the pops
i like the colours on the "Top of the pops" magazine as they are vibrant and big, which will appeal to my audience. so i will use these big vibrants colours for my own magazine

Rolling stone
i love the rolling stone double page spread and article layout, i want to use this because i feel like the image of an actor with a brightly coloured background will look good.
Q
I want to use the Q magazine logo, with a 3 letter word in a red square. i'm thinking about calling my magazine Bam! as it is a synonym of pop, which is the genre of my magazine.
Interests in genre
Top Of The Pops
Top of the pops was a popular Pop music magazine, that recently has focused more on Celebrity Gossip. this means there could be a gap in the magazine market for a Pop magazine. i am interested in creating a pop music magazine for this reason as i know it will sell, as it will be the only one.

Barcode For The Cover
The following is a screenshot of the barcode that i used on the main cover. i didn't feel the need to use photoshop to edit it as i thought it looked fine how it was.
Recurring Colours
Recurring colours
For my contents page and Cover, i have used the same background colour which is red. i have done this consistently so that it looks professional
i have also used the same font and effects for the title of both covers.

Trainspotting Homework
Trainspotting
The scene opens with a shot of the main character on the floor. non-digetic sound is heard as there is a voice over. because this is right at the start this is used to create the scene. when he stands up, there is music being played from what seems like a radio, a baby is heard and his footsteps. the music playing is parrell as it isnt an upbeat song or anything, its just a normal, low, quiet song. all this combined with the look of the scene makes it look like a horrible dirty place to live in. Digetic dialogue is used here between the main character and "Mother Superior" as he states that he is going to be quitting drugs, he talks about "Sean Connery" and "Moral Fibre" which have no connection with Drugs. this could be used for a comedic effect. near the end of the scene there is non-deigetic sound which is a voice over of the main character saying "we called him mother superior due to the length of his habit, of course i was going to have another shot, after all i had work to do"
the scene then cuts to the title of the movie with the sound of a train, the sound is non-digetic and makes us, as the audience, wonder what drugs, or this group of people have in relation to trainspotting.
There is a sound bridge that links the previous scene to this new one. the scene opens with non-digetic music and digetic sounds, such as the front door opening. there is then more non-digetic sound heard as a voice over begins to speak. it talks about how to quit this certian type of drug, and what methods to use, he lists things such as "one room, which you will not leave", "Mushroom soup, 8 tins of" and "1 bucket for urine, one for feces and one for vomiting" the buckets are the highlights as during a withdrawal lapse, you will do all of these things involuntarily, but because there is non-parrell music playing, as it doesn't match the scene, it makes it funny because it almost sounds like he is on a cooking show. it doesn't match how bad all of this is really going to be. all of this creates a comedic effect which will make the audience laugh, after all this is done, the very end of the scene is the main character, being given drugs by a stranger, the comedy in this scene comes from how in his head, he doesnt sound angry, saying "This was typical of Mikey Forrester" and then exclaiming out loud "What the fuck are these"

More BackGround removal and paint tool
15/10/15
Today i worked on removing more of the back ground of my original, i did this through photoshop by hiding the other lays, and using the Eraser and magic wand tool. i am doing this because the back ground is pointless as the main focal point of the image is the student and the sander machine.
I also decided to change the colour of my back ground. i did this by selecting the back ground layer, and changing the gradient to red. i did this because the schools uniform is red\Burgundy.
i did this by using the paint bucket tool.

Drop Shadow effect and contour
For my Text, i used a drop shadow effect and Contour. i did this to make it look professional, and it is easier to read than if it was just plain.
This is the difference between plain and drop shadow and contour.
I did this with all my text so that my work is consistant, professional and the house style stays the same throughout

Photoshop tools used
Yesterday, i used photoshop to create my front cover. because my original photo was a bit to big i had to crop it so it was a medium close up shot.
I finished off the magazine with an image of The Wedding Singer logo, because the schools theatre department are doing it for a show. The final cover is beneath this.
When i was done cropping i create a new page layout and matched the picture to the A4 paper layout i had. when i finished this started to work on my text. down below is the text tool logo.
i started first with the Mast Head which i put at the very bottom of the page. i did this because if it was at the top it would go over the actors faces, which is okay but i already have a little bit of his head cut off at the top.

School Magazine Photo
This will be the photograph i use for my school magazine cover, i have to photoshop this first and then adjust it
Changes to photo
Mise En Scene
Location - i have decided against my original idea of having the photograph in IT5, and instead have gone for the photo in DT, i still have a student doing work, but this time he will be using the sander machine, i do this to show the wide available resources the school has, such as a fantastic Design Technology Department.
Actors - For this shot, i have decided to use a sixth form student, i have done this because the student was easier to access, the prop will be a sander, a lab coat and Goggles, this is to show that every student has things for their own safety when handling this equipment
Camera shot - the shot will still be a medium close up and will be a normal camera height
Costumes - the costume for this shoot will be a lab coat from the DT room and glasses.
props - for this photo i will use a sander machine, this is because it is typically associated with Design Technology
Narrative - for this, i am trying to show the wide array of resources the school has, and the curriculum the school has to offer, the costume will show that the school has a lot of safety measures in place, showing the care for their students

Preparation work
Mise en scene
location - i have chosen to take my shot in IT5, i will use one computer as a prop. i have chosen to take my shot in IT5 because i want to have a student who is looking like they're enjoying school, it also shows that the students want to, and are willing to do things in their free time, this shows that our students are very good academically and want to achieve.
Actors - for my actors, i have chosen to just have 1 sixth form student on a computer typing, this will show that our students have the inititave to do their work in their own time and work independently. i don't need permission because it will be a fellow student in my class, they will wear smart attire and not a school uniform to show that they are in sixth form.
Camera shot - the shot ill be using will be a medium closeup of the student, but im going to have the camera up higher than the student.
Costumes - the costume my student will be wearing will be, basic student sixth form attire, so something smart, with a pass around their neck to show that they are a sixth form.
Props - My props will be a computer, and desk for the computer to be on, this is because the student will be typing on the computer.
Narrative - I'm trying to show the audience that the pupils will work hard in their own time, the smart attire will be a good representation of the standards we expect.
